WWE Announces New Dark Match For Smackdown In Detroit, More WWE News & Notes

WWE On Tour

During tonight's 1,200th episode of WWE Smackdown, a local ad aired on Fox 2 Detroit to promote episode 1,201 next Friday at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.

The dark match is supposed to be The Usos vs. The Street Profits but these non-televised matches always seem to change. At the end of July the local ads were advertising  Bobby Lashley vs. Theory. Other names announced to appear are Roman Reigns, Drew McIntyre, and Ronda Rousey.

WWE is also scheduled to tape the 9/2/22 Smackdown episode in Detroit on 8/26 but it hasn't been adverstised as a double header show.

The WWE crew will be on a hectic schedule in the upcoming weeks. They head over to the UK after the 8/29 Raw in Pittsburg to get ready for The Undertaker's "1 Dead Man Show" on 9/1 in Cardiff and then the "Clash At The Castle" event on 9/3 (which will air on Peacock) in Cardiff. They return to the USA for Raw on 9/5 in Kansas City, Missouri.

The NXT vs. NXT UK "Worlds Collide" special on 9/4/22 will be held in Orlando, Florida at the WWE Performance Center. We don't know if it will be live or taped next week but it will air on Peacock.

Canadian indie wrestlers Kc Spinelli and Zak Patterson were used as extras in the roles of the police officers who arrested Ronda Rousey in the opening segment of WWE Smackdown from Montreal this week.
